Volunteering
Volunteering plays an important role in building a connected, inclusive and resilient Ipswich community.
Ipswich City Council supports and works alongside volunteers to deliver programs, services and events that make a positive difference across the city. Each year, more than 200 volunteers contribute their time, skills and knowledge to support Council initiatives.
Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community, meet new people and develop valuable skills.
Whether you’re looking to support local events, environmental programs or community initiatives, there are a range of opportunities to get involved. For a listing of Council’s current volunteer opportunities and how to apply visit the Ipswich City Council Volunteer Portal via the button below:

Please note from time-to-time Council volunteer programs reach capacity and are not able to provide volunteer placements.
For further information or to request a paper-based application form call (07) 3810 6666 or email council@ipswich.qld.gov.au.
In addition to Council volunteer programs many local organisations are seeking volunteers. We encourage you to explore opportunities with community groups, sporting clubs and not-for-profits, or visit volunteer matching platforms such as
