Langlands Street
Local Snapshots
2014 ENVIROPLAN CALENDAR
Limited copies of the 2014 Enviroplan
Calendar are still available for
collection at the Division 5 office.
The beautiful images portrayed in the
calendar are the work of council’s 2013
Enviroplan Photographic Competition
entrants. The competition challenges
photographers to capture images that
will inspire and encourage residents to
nurture and protect our environment
so its beauty is around for future
generations to enjoy.
PRIDE PINS AND CERTIFICATES
Ipswich Pride Pins and special
milestone birthday and anniversary
certificates are available through the
Divisional offices and the Mayor’s
Office. Many groups swap these pins
when visiting outside the region and
residents often collect a pin to send
to relatives overseas. To order a pin or
request a commemorative certificate,
please contact the Division 5 office.
A new footpath constructed on
Langlands Street, Chuwar between
Dan Street and Lewis Drive is a
welcome project for local residents.
Construction started on the footpath
in November 2013 and took around
10 weeks to complete.
The new footpath runs along the
western side of Langlands Street from
Dan Street to Lewis Drive and Cr
Morrow thanked local residents for
their patience during construction.
The footpath has improved safety for
pedestrians and local residents with
a flat walking path and will be used
for surrounding residents walking
to the nearby Colleges Crossing
Recreation Reserve.
COMMUNITY DONATION FUNDING
In the past six months Cr Morrow
has endorsed the payment of
approximately $23,000 in community
donations to eligible not-for-profit
organisations. To be eligible to apply
your organisation needs to be not-for-
profit or charitable which is governed
by a clearly defined management
and administrations structure. If your
group meets this criteria and has a
project in mind that would benefit
the community, contact the Division 5
office for an application form. For more
information phone 3281 8700.

It has been a busy and exciting
summer. Christmas has come and
gone, we’ve dodged the crippling
floods experienced in previous years
and the kids are back at school.
I would like to remind all drivers to
be patient around school zones and
also encourage all residents to seek
out the many community events
which are organised throughout
the year.
The best way to stay informed is
by visiting council’s website. If you
don’t have internet access, you can
visit the library and make use of the
public computers available.
Also a reminder that the Customer
Call Centre is council’s first point
of contact for all council business
and is located at the top of the
Ipswich mall, or you can also phone
3810 6666.
