ROAD LINK FOR AUGUSTA PARKWAY
Residents living in Ipswich’s eastern
suburbs will be able to take advantage
of the new Eden Station Drive
currently under construction, which
will link Augusta Parkway to the
Springfield-Greenbank Arterial.
NEW CROSSING IN BELLBIRD PARK
Drivers will be hard pressed to miss
the new pedestrian crossing (with
standout orange/red lines) installed
on Redbank Plains Road near Morgan
Street, Bellbird Park. The road carries
around 20,000 vehicles a day and the
new markings will make the crossing
easier for drivers to see. The crossing
is the first of two to be installed in
Division 2. The other is at Queen
Street, Goodna and others
are planned for Goodna, Gailes and
Redbank.
Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with
dew? The team at the new SRS lolly
factory in Augustine Heights can!
Sweet-tooths are flocking to the
new SRS factory which is open to the
public and imports products from all
over the world.
The company first started in Carole
Park in 2002 but owing to popular
demand, outgrew the factory and built
a new one in Augustine Heights which
opened in January 2014.
The family company manufactures
Australian-made products to high
quality standards and also produces a
gluten free range.
SRS not only has a major distribution
network throughout Australia, but
also exports to New Zealand, Pacific
Islands, Singapore, America, South
Africa and the United Kingdom.
The local factory is a coup for
local employment.
Sweetmans Lolly Shop at SRS is
located at 27 Technology Drive,
Augustine Heights and is open Monday
to Friday from 10am to 5pm and
Saturday 10.30am to 4pm.
KERB AND CHANNEL WORK
RECOMMENCES IN GAILES/CAMIRA
Work will recommence on kerb and
channelling work on Old Logan Road
in Gailes and Camira following the
completion of some upgrades by
Queensland Urban Utilities. Kerb and
channelling work was stopped over
the Christmas break and is due to
commence by March 2014.
NEW HIGH SCHOOL BELLBIRD PARK
The State Government has acquired
vacant land on Jones Road at Bellbird
Park opposite Harris Street for the
construction of a new high school. The
school is expected to open by 2017 and
will adjoin the new Brentwood Forest
development. The new school is one of
four planned for the Ipswich region.
Bellbird Park is the only new secondary
school while the new schools at
Springfield, Ripley Valley and Redbank
Plains will take primary school aged
children.

For Ipswich’s eastern suburbs, 2014
promises to be a vibrant year.
Our region is always growing with
new residents and businesses moving
to Ipswich’s bustling eastern suburbs
and it’s great to welcome those
people to our city and share with
them all the great things Ipswich has
to offer.
If anyone has any issues they would
like to bring up, my door is always
open. Please feel free to send me
an email, give me a call or drop in
to the Division 2 Office to arrange a
meeting.
We are here to help you, discuss your
concerns and build a city we can all
be proud to call home.
