Council will soon be recruiting for 14 traineeship roles at the beginning of 2025. Current 2024 traineeship roles range from libraries to civil construction to animal care to horticulture.

A traineeship program offers an opportunity for successful applicants to gain 12 months employment to entry level pathways into council and obtain a national qualification.

Council encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply. We have a Cultural Mentoring Program; offer meaningful participation in council’s NAIDOC week celebrations; the opportunity to be involved in council’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employee Working Group initiatives; and Cultural, Ceremonial and NAIDOC Leave.

Keep an eye out on the Careers@Ipswich page of the Ipswich City Council website so you can apply for the traineeships as soon as they are advertised early January 2025.
