The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games is a once in a generational opportunity. It promises a legacy that can be experienced locally, regionally, nationally, and across the Oceania.
A legacy which is committed to the long-term investment in the community, elevating Queensland to be strategically considered and showcased, through tourism and the prism of sport.
Ipswich offers a point of difference, with a country meets city lifestyle brimming with potential. As a Games co-host city, Ipswich is close to the greater part of the effort. In engaging with our community and through the expertise of the Legacy Working Group, Council worked to develop its roadmap to the Olympics, Leveraging 2032. It interweaves two intrinsic themes, celebrating the world’s oldest living culture, peoples of the First Nations, and recognising the need to create a barrier free society for people with a disability. It defines the transformational legacy outcomes for the city across the below four themes:
Council is committed to working alongside the Games Partners, to deliver its point of difference to benefit the greater region. Council will continue to engage with the community and leverage off the Legacy Working Group.
