The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (Games) aspire to create a lasting social, economic and environmental legacy within South East Queensland.
The Olympic Games will be held from 23 July to 8 August 2032 and the Paralympic Games from 24 August to 5 September 2032.
The Games are set to deliver $8.1 billion in benefits to Queensland including $4.6 billion economic boost to tourism and trade and $3.5 billion in social improvements, consolidating this great city as a global city, benefiting not only Brisbane, but the whole state of Queensland and the national economy. The Games will be the largest event that has been ever held in Queensland requiring place-based thinking, partnerships and the ability to imagine a bolder future.
The Games provides the opportunity for a once in a lifetime change creating legacy for future generations, upgraded and new sporting venues and the chance to honour, showcase and celebrate the worlds oldest living culture, Australia’s First Nation people. It will create new standards for accessibility and inclusiveness, ensuring that all venues will be suited to all people regardless of age, family needs or mobility. It will deliver an integrated transport network across the region. It will deliver a climate positive Games creating lasting climate benefits and accelerating the transitions to net-zero emissions, a low carbon economy. It will create a pipeline of opportunities and be a catalyst for businesses to create valuable new partnerships and supply chains.
