This national-standard precinct anchored around a boutique 12,500 seat rectangular stadium with prime city and river views is supported with a Federal Government funding commitment of $20 million. Traditionally home to rugby league, the stadium is designed to include soccer matches, with broadcast facilities to ensure NRL and A-League matches can be hosted. As one of council’s regionally significant projects, the revitalisation of this precinct presents an exciting opportunity with a myriad of benefits.
With the inclusion of five new sports to the LA 2028 Games, the opportunities for Brisbane 2032 continue. Fast forward to 2032, Ipswich will be home to a world-class facility, offering a venue to host new sports like flag football, offer a venue for events, open pathways for local businesses, provide a venue for Olympic training and support Ipswich as an Olympic Games venue. With broadcasting capabilities and connectivity to road and rail, North Ipswich presents an additional Games venue.
