Ipswich Civic Centre keeping the whole family entertained this festive season

Theatre shows and a tribute to music icons The Bee Gees are among the incredible performances coming to Ipswich this November and December.

Community, Culture, Arts and Sport Committee Chair Councillor Andrew Fechner said the Ipswich Civic Centre will welcome many new shows this November and December.

“The Ipswich Civic Centre will welcome an exciting line-up of shows this November and December which will give you 60s, 70s and 80s flashbacks with the performance of The Best of the Bee Gees with Colin ‘Smiley’ Petersen,” Cr Fechner said.

“The award-winning production Animal Farm will round out the month of November, and Beauty and the Beast JRis the best show in town if you are looking for family friendly entertainment.”

Community, Culture, Arts and Sport Committee Deputy Chair Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said the best shows will be landing on Ipswich’s doorstep this silly season.

“The calibre of performances coming our way over the coming months is exciting. There’s really no need to travel out of Ipswich to catch a show and this line-up is exceptional,” Cr Kunzelmann said.

“There’s something in this programme to entertain all members of the family - the Beauty and The Beast Jnr show will be a wonderful school holiday outing for the kids.”

The Best of the Bee Gees with Colin ‘Smiley’ Petersen

The Best of the Bee Gees brings a catalogue of hits and firsthand stories from original Bee Gees drummer Colin Smiley Petersen, to the Ipswich Civic Centre in November.

It would be a tragedy to miss this ultimate tribute which continues to bring global audiences to their feet.

Animal Farm by George Orwell

George Orwell’s powerfully potent and profoundly popular allegory returns in a the multi award-winning theatre production Animal Farm.

Revolution has taken place at Manor Farm.

The animals have overthrown their human masters and assumed control of the farm.

Led by the charismatic porker Napoleon and fuelled by enthusiastic camaraderie, a prosperous future free from the self-serving greed of humans is theirs for the taking.

Created by critically acclaimed Shake & Stir Theatre Co, Animal Farm will be one of the most blisteringly relevant, fiercely physical, and wickedly funny theatre events of 2021.

Beauty and the Beast JR.

Based on the original Broadway production, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR is a fantastic adaptation of a story about transformation and tolerance.

This classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an Enchantress.

If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end, and he will be transformed to his former self.
