Last chance to taste the Flavours of Ipswich

20 April 2021

There are just four days left to enjoy the exclusive Flavours of Ipswich menus at some of the city’s favourite restaurants, with early feedback indicating that the pilot program has been a popular drawcard for Ipswich.

The Ipswich City Council-led program features more than 30 specially curated menus for a set price, with a two-course lunch priced at $25 per person and a three-course dinner priced at $35 per person.

Mayor Teresa Harding said initial feedback was positive with residents and visitors taking the opportunity to sample Ipswich’s vibrant local restaurant scene.

“We have such a diverse and delicious range of dining options in Ipswich featuring a variety of cuisines,” Mayor Harding said.

“Flavours of Ipswich restaurants have reported new business across the board including visitors from across South-East Queensland and community members getting behind our local traders.”

Preliminary feedback from participating restaurants includes:

  • Commercial Hotel Redbank went through 100 kilograms of beef, 40 kilograms of pork belly, 100 kilograms of potatoes and 100 litres of red wine in the program’s first week.
  • The Prince Alfred Hotel went through 100 kilograms of beef and 100 litres of ice cream in the program’s first week.
