There is good news for visitors to the state-of-the-art Rosewood Library with extended opening hours to the community hub to begin in the New Year.
From Tuesday 4 January 2022, Rosewood Library will open in the morning from 9am on Fridays. Previously, the library opened at noon.
Division 4 Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said the change was the direct result of community feedback.
“In September and October, council surveyed library users asking if they would visit Rosewood Library if it opened Friday mornings,” Cr Kunzelmann said.
“The response was clear with a majority of the 213 respondents supporting the extended opening hours.
“Council has listened and will extend library opening times by three hours on Fridays to ensure this important community facility continues to meet the needs of residents, families, and students.
“From early next year, you’ll also have more time each week to enjoy Rosewood Library, whether that’s to discover your new favourite book in the Marketplace Selections, explore the imaginative children’s corner, get creative with the interactive Makerspace technology, or to enjoy the library’s other fantastic services.
“Rosewood Library also offers Council Connect services which provides residents with a range of face-to-face and online services including, rates enquiries and payments, dog registrations, licences and renewals, to name just a few.”
From 4 January 2022, Rosewood Library will be open the following hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9am to 5pm
Friday: 9am to 7pm
Saturday: 9am to 12pm
Sunday: Closed
