Free Australia Day fun at Tulmur Place

Come down under to the Nicholas Street Precinct and Tulmur Place this Australia Day for free family friendly activities and entertainment from 10am to 2pm.
Australia Day celebrations will kick off with a performance by the Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dance Company, followed by a singalong to Australian rock classics by five-piece cover band Chester.
Families can also cool down from the summer heat in the Tulmur Place zero-depth water play zone and enjoy a variety of flavours from the food trucks onsite.
Mayor Teresa Harding said the event would offer fun for the entire family.
“Make Australia Day memorable this year and celebrate with family and friends at our wonderful Nicholas Street Precinct,” Mayor Harding said.
“Tulmur Place is the heart of our great city and there’s no better way to celebrate Australia Day then by cooling off in the zero-depth water play zone.
“Residents can also immerse themselves in First Nations culture with a traditional dance performance by the Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dance Company.”
Entry to the Nicolas Street Precinct, Tulmur Place Australia Day celebrations is free, and residents are encouraged to remember their masks, socially distance, and not attend if feeling unwell or displaying COVID-19 symptoms.
Given Australia Day is a public holiday, free all-day undercover parking is available at the Nicholas Street Precinct Car Park, under Tulmur Place (entry from Bremer Street).
This event is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council.
