It’s time to clean out the spare room or under the house as Ipswich City Council’s free large item kerbside collection begins on 14 February 2022 for one week in Churchill, Leichhardt and North Ipswich.
Division 4 Councillor Kate Kunzelmann said the service is helping Ipswich residents to dispose of unwanted items around their home.
“We know our community highly values this free suburb-by-suburb service,” Cr Kunzelmann said.
“From Monday 14 February teams will be collecting across Churchill, Leichhardt and North Ipswich.”
Division 4 Councillor Russell Milligan said to check council’s guidelines on what is an acceptable item.
“Make sure you know that what you are putting out on the footpath is acceptable, as only acceptable items will be collected,” Cr Milligan said.
“Check the schedule on council’s website to see when crews will be in your suburb.
“Crew will be passing 4,556 homes over the week in Churchill, Leichardt and North Ipswich.”
Kerbside collection guidelines are:
Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, household appliances, carpet, lino, bath and laundry tubs, bicycles and outdoor play equipment.
Residents should place items on the kerb by the weekend before their scheduled collection commencement date, but not more than seven days prior.
The full schedule of when the kerbside collection service will be available in each suburb is available on council’s website.
