It’s time to clean out the spare room or under the house as Ipswich City Council’s free large item kerbside collection begins on 28 February 2022 for one week in Flinders View and Yamanto.
Division 1 Councillor Jacob Madsen said the service is helping Ipswich residents to dispose of unwanted items around their home.
“From Monday 28 February, collection teams will start disposing of large unwanted household items from Flinders View and Yamanto” Cr Madsen said.
“This kerbside collection service means bulky items that cannot be reused or recycled can be picked up free of charge.”
Division 1 Councillor Sheila Ireland said collection teams were working hard to help residents clean up.
“Collection teams will be passing by 2,285 homes in Flinders View and 1,959 homes in the Division 4 suburb of Yamanto,” Cr Ireland said.
“Residents should place items on the kerb by the weekend before their scheduled collection commencement date, but not more than seven days prior.”
Kerbside collection guidelines are:
Read the guidelines on what is an acceptable item to put on the footpath as only acceptable items will be collected.
Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, household appliances, carpet, lino, bath and laundry tubs, bicycles and outdoor play equipment.
The full schedule of when the kerbside collection service will be available in each suburb is now available on council’s website.
