Get loud and glow up with a free night of neon and live tunes

11 October 2022

Friday nights will get louder as Tulmur Place launches a monthly live music series featuring headlining bands, family-friendly entertainment and all things neon.

Ipswich Central Redevelopment Committee Chairperson and Division 3 Councillor Marnie Doyle said council continues to provide new events to bring the community together in the city centre.

“Tunes in Tulmur is a free event this October and November that combines live music, food trucks, roving performers and a licenced bar,” Cr Doyle said.

“Live music for the October event will be headlined by Triple Vegas – featuring members of Angry Anderson’s, Mark Gable’s (Choirboys), and the Creedence - The John Fogerty Show bands performing hits guaranteed to get everyone singing and dancing – and the live artist for November’s Tunes in Tulmur will be Trace.

Division 3 Councillor Andrew Fechner said there will be plenty of fun and games for all ages.

“We have organised special neon games, a photo booth and roving performers to entertain younger family members and if the parents just want to kick back, a licensed bar courtesy of Aushotels will also be available,” Cr Fechner said.

“Tunes in Tulmur is a free event which will run from 5pm to 9pm and a fabulous way to take advantage of the warmer weather and chill out with family and friends to music, dance, food and great fun.

“We know Ipswich residents love live music, so this will be a monthly live music series supporting local acts.”

Tunes in Tulmur is on Friday 21 October from 5pm until 9pm and also on Friday 25 November from 5pm until 9pm.

2023 dates will be announced shortly.

Parking in the dedicated Nicholas Street Precinct carpark is accessible via Bremer Street and is free for up to three hours.
