Held in June, the annual festival combines heart-pumping local favourites and a number of signature horseracing and motorsport championships events.
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said the Festival of Horsepower was the ‘torque of the town’ as an exciting local favourite that also drew visitors from across the globe.
“Council welcomes the world-class annual Festival of Horsepower to Ipswich, set to take off at top speed again this June,” Mayor Harding said.
“Festival of Horsepower will be delivering various heart-racing and exhilarating events, offering something for everyone in the family.
“We’ve had a few tough years with the pandemic and a few tough months with the floods – the Festival of Horsepower will be a great opportunity for our community to come together.”
The festival kicks off with the Ipswich Cup Barrier Draw at Tulmur Place on 14 June. Then join in the action at the Ipswich Cup on 18 June, Australia’s largest regional race day.
