Ipswich is ready to deck the halls, with the Christmas in Ipswich program unwrapped to reveal plenty of magical moments across the city and in Division 4.
Division 4 Councillor Jim Madden said there are fun and festive activities for everyone to enjoy.
“The celebrations begin throughout Division 4 with one of Ipswich’s longest-running and much-loved community Christmas event, Brassall Christmas in the Park at Sutton Park returning on 29 November,” Cr Madden said.
“For those with a long Christmas gift list, head to the Marburg Christmas Carnival at the Marburg Showgrounds on Saturday 7 December, and the Rosewood Christmas Festival at the Rosewood Showgrounds on Friday 13 December for market stalls aplenty.
“And Division 4 can sing loudly and with good cheer at the Pine Mountain Christmas Carols at the Cricket Pitch Park on Sunday 1 December from 4pm, supporting Pine Mountain Rural Fire Brigade.”
Division 4 Councillor David Martin said there are plenty of other wonderful activities happening across the region.
“Christmas is the time of giving, and the 28th Ulysses Club Annual Ipswich Toy Run is the perfect way to do just that,” Cr Martin said.
“Join or support the annual toy run, going from Brassall Shopping Centre to Ipswich Showgrounds on Sunday 8 December at 10:30am as motorbikes are adorned with toys to fundraise for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and Ulysses Club Arthritis Fund.
“Residents can also enjoy Christmas under the Stars at Tivoli at the Tivoli Drive-In Theatre. On Saturday 7 December from 3pm, enjoy a selection of activities and rides, including a Christmas lights bush walk, wildlife experiences and delicious food. ‘A Journey to Bethlehem’ will be playing on the big screen.
“Don’t forget the popular Letters to Santa at Ipswich Libraries branches will send wish-lists to Santa from 19 November to 11 December and entries are currently open for the Christmas Lights Competition.
“It’s always exciting to see the community enjoy Christmas together and I’m sure residents will love spreading the Christmas cheer at these events.”
