Ipswich libraries continue to shine

Ipswich libraries have received glowing references from the community in council’s annual libraries survey with an overall satisfaction rating of 92 per cent.
Ipswich City Council Community and Sport Committee Chairperson Councillor Jacob Madsen said the results of the annual survey were a credit to council officers who provide library services.
“From Redbank Plains to the Ipswich Children’s Library, to Rosewood Library and the Karalee Library Pod, our library services have something for everyone,” Cr Madsen said.
“What’s clear from this year’s survey is that our dedicated Ipswich Libraries staff are going above and beyond to ensure they are meeting the expectations of the entire community and leave members smiling.
“The annual libraries survey is an opportunity for Ipswich residents to share their thoughts on the libraries and the comments received in 2024 demonstrate how popular our libraries are.
“Council library officers consistently receive positive feedback on their knowledge, helpfulness and customer satisfaction.
“Other comments noted how beautifully laid out Ipswich Libraries facilities were, crediting up-to-date resources and amazing service delivery to a large community.”
A total of 1,464 people completed the survey, with more than 75 per cent of respondents having visited Ipswich Libraries to borrow or return from the library’s collection.
“Data reveals about 40 per cent of Ipswich Library users are aged between 30 and 49, reflecting Ipswich’s young and family-focused demographics,” Cr Madsen said.
“The survey also shows many enjoy the library programs on offer and use facilities to work and study.”
