Ipswich City Council is proud to partner with the Ipswich RSL Sub-Branch to host the Anzac Day Main March on Thursday, 25 April 2024.

Registrations have now closed.

Assembly and Step-off Point

Corner of Brisbane Street and Waghorn Street

Step off at 10.45am

Road Closures

There will be various road closures taking place from 6.30am on 25 April with roads open by 1pm.

  • Brisbane Street (between Burnett Street and Nicholas Street)
  • Nicholas Street (between d’Arcy Doyle Place through to and including Union Place)
  • Ellenborough Street (between Limestone Street and Bremer Street)
  • Darling Street East (between Ellenborough Street and Waghorn Street)
  • Waghorn Street (between Chelmsford Avenue and Darling Street East)

To ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators, your co-operation by not parking your vehicle/s on the roadside of these street closures would be most appreciated. All vehicle access will be limited to emergency service vehicles only from 6.30 am when the road closures take place. This is to allow for any infrastructure to be put in place in a safe and timely manner. Street parking is still available in surrounding streets along with free parking in the Nicholas Street Precinct Car Park.

Incapacitated Veterans

Please contact the Ipswich RSL Sub-Branch should you require transport the march.

The Wearing of Medals and Decorations

Traditionally War medals may only be worn on the left breast by the persons upon whom they were conferred.

It is customary for family members who are marching in memory of a deceased family member to wear their forebears medals on the right breast, this indicates that they are not their own.

General Information

The temperature forecast for Anzac Day is generally around 25°. It is therefore recommended that patrons apply sunscreen, wear a hat and shirt with collar and bring a bottle of water.
