The following is for Private Certifiers who are looking to archive a Private Certifier Applications with Ipswich City Council in accordance with Building Act 1975, section 86.

ONLINE LODGEMENT

The preferred method of lodgement is now through the Online Lodgements Portal (ePathway). To do this, follow the instructions or watch the video below, then click the GET STARTED button.

New users will need to register online first and accept the terms and conditions. Registering for an account has a 2-business day turnaround time where users will receive a confirmation email once complete.

Registered users can accept the terms and conditions then sign in to start lodging.

To lodge a new application:

  • Log into your online account, hover over the Applications menu and select New Application.
  • Under Development Application Types select either Notice of Engagement or the appropriate Building Works Class.
  • Upload your documents using PDF format. The system will accept multiple documents individually uploaded.
  • If you need to provide additional documents or submit an amendment to the application at a separate time, please email plandev@ipswich.qld.gov.au
  • No payment is required to lodge a Notice of Engagement, however payment is required to lodge the Building Works Class documents. For a full list of Ipswich City Council's Fees and Charges, click here.

To add a Final Inspection Certificate to an existing application:

  • Log into your online account, hover over the Enquiries menu and select Application Enquiry.
  • Click the down arrow beside ePathway General Enquiry-Applications.  Select Building Works Privately Certified and then click the Next button.
  • Use the form to find the property address of the application you wish to add the Final Inspection Certificate to.
  • After finding the application, click the Application Description hyperlink, then click the Submit Response button. From there, attach the Final Inspection Certificate and any other supporting documents.
  • The system will accept multiple documents individually uploaded. To add more than three attachments, click the Add More Attachments button.
  • Once you have finished, click on the Next button and the I/We Agree tick box, and then click on the Next button.
  • No payment is required to upload a Final Inspection Certificate.
